David Atallah, the Inn's Outreach Chair, is co-sponsoring this happy hour to raise funds to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan.  At the event, David will ask folks to donate using this link https://bgcsm.org/donate/, but we encourage all Inn's members to donate, whether attending the happy hour or not. The Inn is hosting a charity event to benefit the Bottomless Toy Chest on December 10, which will be co-hosted with the OCBA.  The Bottomless Toy Chest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to delivering empowering toys, craft projects, and interactive activities to hospitalized pediatric oncology patients. 

Please bring a gift unwrapped, and wrapping centers will be set up at the event.  Even if you are not able to attend the event, we also ask that you please consider providing a gift to help support the Inn's mission of charitable outreach.

Program: IP History in the Eastern District of Detroit (April 17, 2019)

This program will begin with a history of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan provided by Court Historian Judy Christie.  A number of famous IP cases originating from our District will be profiled, including Caraco v. Novo Nordisk, KSR v. Teleflex, GM v. Devex, and others 



Program: “Just whose side are you on, anyway?” 

This program will address various ethical issues from the perspective of an IP attorney from first meeting to the end of the relationship.  Situations will focus on moments when the client’s interests diverge from the attorney’s interest.  


Program: Quiz Bowl (March 5, 2019)

Pupilage teams will participate in a Quiz Bowl involving questions relating to law, ethics, general trivia, the history of Detroit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, as well as Inn related questions.  Extra bonus points will be awarded to those groups answering specific questions about their pupilage team members’ background.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three groups.

December 1, 2018– Jingle Bell Run, The Corner Ballpark (Michigan and Trumbull)

Along with another Inn or Bar association, we will sponsor a team to participate in the Jingle Bell Run in Detroit.  This will support the Arthritis Foundation
